I genuinely think my website has become one of my most prized possessions. I love my website so much. It's my digital home.
It's my creative sandbox where I can indefinitely expand the scope. New favorite color? You bet I'll change the theme again and again. Got a new idea for a page? Boom, added to the [todo list](/todo). There are so many things [you can do on your personal website](https://jamesg.blog/2024/02/19/personal-website-ideas).
I think almost everyone in my circle has heard me talk about my website, or [why they should have one](https://www.hendrik-erz.de/post/academic-website-i-why-a-personal-website-is-a-great-idea), atleast once. It's one of the things I always mention when talking about [social media and our digital lives](/blog/social-media-and-our-digital-lives), as it's something I think more people should have as their anchor on the web. Then you could also follow the [POSSE-principle](https://indieweb.org/POSSE), so the people not using [walled gardens](/blog/dont-hide-community-behind-walled-gardens) can see what you're up to. That way [everybody's free (to write websites)](https://sarajoy.dev/blog/write-websites/) to see your content on their preferred site/platform.
This post ended up being more of [a love letter to hte personal website](https://localghost.dev/blog/this-page-is-under-construction/), but I could go on and on about [things I love seeing in personal webspaces](https://folkmoss.bearblog.dev/list-of-things-i-love-seeing-in-personal-webspaces/), but I think I'll end this messy post here lol.
[Have a Fucking Website](https://www.otherstrangeness.com/2026/03/14/have-a-fucking-website/) (***mic drop***).
